SUMMER OFFERINGS

RESPONDING TO SEXUAL ASSAULT SURVIVORS: how to do the work without funding

 

This training is designed for community members, advocates in various fields, funders or others seeking to be better prepared to respond to sexual assault, anyone who reaches out for help or discloses abuse. The training covers both introductory and advanced topics and provides a foundation for understanding sexual violence, sexual assault, rape or sexual harassment. There is no cost for this training, however, donations to help continue our work will be received with gratitude. Training topics include: overview of sexual assault, role of the first responder or advocate,  survivor centered responses, understanding sexual assault and trauma, technology and stalking, the various intersections, what about the police? and other special topics.

This training focuses on ending sexual violence in Black communities through a Black feminist lens. We will cover community based approaches, evidence-based practices, and advocacy. We will centralize consent 101 and bystander intervention. 

75-HOUR RAPID RESPONSE CRISIS INTERVENTION TRAINING FOR ADVOCATES

 

Garner tools for responding to sexual assault survivors in the aftermath of violence. Learn an overview of sexual assault, hands-on skills for hotline support, and in-person advocacy.Topics covered include neurobiology of trauma, safety planning, and civil legal options.
